The engine

Glassbox

Most platforms are named for what they promise. This one is named for what you are allowed to see.

It works out when two records are about the same thing. A customer written four ways across four systems is still one customer. Until something says so, you are counting them four times, and every total built on top of that is wrong.

The engine decides, writes down why it decided, and lets you argue with it. It is rarely a matter of comparing text. The thing being matched can be a pump, a permit, a person referred to only by their job, or an argument made in four languages that share no words.

Then it keeps track of what that thing is connected to. The permit it sits under. The contract it belongs to. The law being argued about it. Because knowing two records are the same is worth nothing on its own. What matters is what it lets you see next.
